Scottish Apprenticeship Week starts today!! The DYW Team at Bon Accord Care are delighted to share the amazing work that our Foundation Apprentices have been involved in over the last few months.
Savani and Sanuli, pictured below, have been based at Kingswells Care Home for the duration of their work based learning part of the Foundation Apprenticeship. They have very much enjoyed the experience and were really happy to share some feedback with the DYW Team.
“I love the friendly staff around me who understand my role and give me appropriate tasks to do. They are always available to support me if I have questions. I seem to be improving something every day, therefore my confidence in how I take care of the service users enables me to look forward to caring for them a bit more enthusiastically than the week before. Looking at the service users’ behaviours and responses has forever been interesting, as well as how they engage in certain situations like when their family members visit them. There is a sense of family at the placement where the staff cares for the service users as well as themselves, therefore Kingswells Care Home is always a lovely place to end my school week.”
Kathleen Cruickshank, Manager of Kingswells Care Home proved this feedback about the FAs:
“Satvika and Savani have been a real positive addition within the care home , they come in full of smiles and enthusiasm and have really connected with the staff team and residents. It’s very clear from both how much they value the placement as a step forward in their education and chosen career paths . This commitment to the placement and the outcomes they will achieve shines through and has played a large part in how successful it’s been . We will all miss these 2 lovely young ladies when their time with us ends.”
